A shell and tube heat exchanger, such as a vertical combined feed / effluent heat exchanger (VCFE), including: a shell having a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet; a plurality of baffles mounted in the shell to guide the fluid into a helical flow pattern through the shell; wherein a helix angle a of a baffle proximate the inlet is different than a helix angle ß of a baffle proximate the outlet.
L'invention concerne un échangeur thermique à tubes et calandre, tel qu'un échangeur thermique vertical combiné entre alimentation et évacuation, comprenant : une calandre avec une entrée et une sortie de fluide ; une pluralité de chicanes montées dans la calandre pour guider le fluide afin de former un écoulement hélicoïdal au travers de la calandre. L'angle de l'hélice a d'une chicane proche de l'entrée est différent de l'angle de l'hélice ß d'une chicane proche de la sortie.
