ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The vertical cooking barbecue is comprised of a robust outer container within which are two vertically positioned heat sources. Food is placed in a clam shell, metal weave food basket which is vertically suspended from a support rod placed between the heat sources. The relative position of the heat sources with respect to the food basket is fully adjustable by means of cam and lever mechanisms located at either side of the outer container . The heat sources are slidably adjustable horizontally within the confines of the outer container by the action of the external adjusting levers. The vertical cooking barbecue thus cooks food evenly, quickly and without flareups and other problems associated with conventional barbecues.
