ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A vertical log splitter adapted to split more than one log at the time, to split logs in quarters, and to selectively split longer logs, such as posts. More specifically, this vertical log splitter is arranged with the splitting path aligned with the main frame for efficient use and construction of the frame; it includes an elongated main cutter to split more than one log side by side; it has a removable transverse cutter to selectively split logs in quarters; it has an accessory cutter selectively securable to the main cutter to split longer logs or posters; and it includes a hydraulic cylinder actuated by a manual control for the log splitting dis- placement and by an automatic control for the return displacement for safety and convenience respectively.
