ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A vertical pusher plate for a horizontally discharging semi-trailer having an elongated floor and body with a discharge opening in one end and having means for moving the pusher plate toward and away from said discharge opening; said pusher plate being formed with a portion extending forwardly so as to slidingly engage the floor of the semi-trailer and comprises a vertically standing member, an outwardly and downwardly extending support on the side of said member facing said discharge opening and slidably engaging said body in spaced relation to said member whereby force exerted on said member by said means for moving the same is directed downwardly to said body through said support when said force tends to tilt said member toward said discharge opening as a result of engagement against material in said body being discharged by said pusher plate. -2-
