ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A vertical window blind slat with an upper hanger and a lower stress-imparting weight. The hanger and/or weight element includes stress-imparting components each secured relative to a respective one end of an upper end and lower end of the slat adjacent a corresponding longitudinal side edge of the slat. This stresses the slat substantially along the longitudinal edges whereby tendancy of the slat to twist is substantially reduced.
