Vertically actuated web up door for access to the interior of a web dryer. The door is aligned in a plurality of vertical tracks and is pneumatically actuated. An angled adjustable sealing flange on the web up door compresses and seals against a corresponding angled gasket in a front panel access opening to substantially seal the interior of the dryer from the ambient air. A multi-planar vertical exhaust seal, secured to the interior of the door, prevents transmission of heat impingement from dryer air bars through the door and prevents hot door burns to operator personnel. Heat impingement against the areas adjacent to and aligned with the vertically actuated door seal can be further minimized by interceding of vertical air deflectors between the ends of the dryer air bars and the dryer wall. A safety sensor prevents door motion should an operator's appendage engage the door area adjacent to the dryer.
