A vertically integrated magnetic memory with Hall effect sensing or reading. It has a ferromagnetic structure with a nearly enclosed magnetic path, which is a vertical structure integrated on a chip. Each memory cell has a closed magnetic field that has high strength for a strong Hall effect. The magnet is a closed loop, robust reproducible magnet. A memory array of such cells uses little power in that only few cells need to draw the read current for a short time required to read information. A silicon or GaAs chip implementation of the memory is one embodiment, among others, wherein the field required to saturate the electrons can be achieved without excessive power.

La présente invention concerne une mémoire magnétique à intégration verticale à lecture par effet Hall. Elle comporte une structure ferromagnétique renfermant presque complètement un chemin magnétique. Cette structure est intégrée verticalement sur un microcircuit. Chaque cellule de mémoire renferme un champ magnétique présentant une force élevée pour un effet Hall puissant. L'aimant est de type reproductible en boucle et cohérent. Une matrice mémoire de telles cellules ne consomme que peu de courant car il n'y a qu'un petit nombre de cellules qui viennent tirer du courant de lecture pendant le très court instant nécessaire à la lecture d'informations. L'une des réalisations, à base de microcircuits au silicium ou à l'arséniure de gallium, permet notamment de réaliser le champ magnétique de saturation électronique sans grande demande de puissance.
