The invention concerns a very high bit-rate soliton regenerator, including a non-linear optical loop mirror or NOLM (3) receiving a soliton signal ensuring its modulation by a control. The regenerator also includes a control generating device (5) using pulses from two optical sources (11, 12), the frequency of at least one of the two sources being variable, and keyed to the modulated soliton signal, for example to its power, or keyed to an optical phase-locked loop. The result is a soliton regenerator which uses only low-frequency electronic components, and which can regenerate a soliton signal at a very high bit-rate.

L'invention propose un régénérateur de solitons à très haut débit, comprenant un miroir non linéaire en boucle ou NOLM (3) recevant le signal soliton assurant sa modulation par un contrôle. Le régénérateur comprend aussi un dispositif de génération (5) du contrôle par battement de deux sources optiques (11, 12), la fréquence l'une au moins des deux sources étant variable, et asservie en fonction du signal soliton modulé, par exemple en fonction de sa puissance, ou asservie à l'aide d'une boucle à verrouillage de phase optique. On obtient ainsi un régénérateur de solitons qui n'utilise que des composants électroniques à basse fréquence, et qui peut régénérer un signal soliton à très haut débit.
