Towboat of the kind that has a towing point (22, 23), such as a towing hook placed in such way that a towline can move freely to both sides. The deck house (27) of the towboat and additional superstructure are placed in front of the towing point (22, 23). It has at least one hold (11) for transportation and/or treatment of fish, which hold extends in both longitudinal directions from the midship area of the vessel. This hold (11) is arranged for rapid intake and outlet of water from the sea, for intake of sea water for circulation, and/or for increasing stability, for enhancing the possible towing force.
