ABSTRACT A hot water heater tank is formed from a cylindrical body or tube and a header subassembly. The header subassembly includes first and second headers sized to fit in separately sized sections of the body of the tank. The subassembly, comprising the headers and interconnecting heat exchange tubes, is coated with a protective ceramic material prior to insertion into a cylindrical body of the tank.
