A method of transplanting a transplant derived from a donor into a recipient is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of (a) transplanting the transplant into the recipient; and (b) administering to the recipient a dose including non-alloreactive anti-third party cytotoxic T-lymphocytes (CTLs), wherein the non-alloreactive anti-third party CTLs are generated by directing T-lymphocytes of the donor against a third party antigen or antigens, the dose is substantially depleted of T-lymphocytes capable of developing into alloreactive CTLs, thereby preventing or ameliorating both graft rejection by the recipient and graft versus host disease.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de transplanter un greffon provenant d'un donneur sur un patient receveur. Ce procédé comprend les étapes suivantes : (a) on transplante le greffon sur le receveur, et (b) on administre au receveur une dose d'une composition comprenant des lymphocytes T cytotoxiques (CTL) non alloréactifs <= anti-étranger >=. On obtient ces CTL non alloréactifs <=anti-étranger >= en dirigeant des lymphocytes T du donneur contreun ou plusieurs antigènes étrangers. La dose administrée est sensiblement exempte de lymphocytes T capables de se transformer en CTL alloréactifs, ce qui permet de prévenir et d'abaisser le risque de rejet de la greffe par le receveur, de même que le risque de maladie de greffe contre l'hôte.
