A vertical pouch forming, filling and sealing machine (10) and method for making pouches (22) and filling same with a liquid content in the range of about 5 to 20 liters, is described. As a pouch is being filled with a liquid (49) it descends into a support cage (47) to restrain the pouch (22) from ballooning out and prevents the weight of the liquid in the filled pouch from tensioning the film (14) in the hot horizontal seal zone of the horizontal sealer (21). The support cage (47) compensates for loss of surface tension of the film in the hot horizontal seal zone during the horizontal sealing cycle. The cage (47) also has a gate section (56) to discharge the filled pouch by gravity after the horizontal sealing cycle.

L'invention concerne une machine (10) servant à former, remplir et sceller verticalement (VFFS) un sac, et une méthode permettant de fabriquer ces sacs (22) et de les remplir d'un contenu liquide situé dans une plage comprise entre 5 et 20 litres environ.
