ABSTRACT A weighing apparatus, having only one vibrating wire comprises a vertical bar which carries both the scale platform and the magnetic system which deflects the wire, the lower end of which is secured to the vertical bar. A transverse member arranged at right angles to the vertical bar serves to clamp the upper end of the wire, and as a stop for an overload device. The vertical bar and transverse member have cavities for the accommodation of vibration-damping material. The apparatus is largely independent of temperature over a wide range and is adequately damped against vibratîons.
