ABSTRACT A cathode ray tube which includes a face- plate having on its inner surface a centrally disposed phosphor screen, and a flat color selection electrode supported in tension, spaced from the screen. The electrode has a central apertured portion and a peripheral portion, and is susceptible to vibration. A vibration damping system is located on the peripheral portion of the electrode for damping vibrations in the electrode.
