ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a vibration responsive detector comprising at least one pair of parallel, electrically conductive rods, at least two seismic elements, having electrically conductive outer surfaces, mounted on the rods of said one pair so as to provide parallel electrical connections between these two rods, characterised in that positioning means are provided for urging each seismic element into contact with an adjacent seismic element so as to ensure electrical connection between adjacent elements irrespective of relative movement of adjacent elements transversely of the rods.
