A vibration monitor (14) is worn on the wrist of an operative (12) operating plant or apparatus (10). The monitor (14) includes a piezo-electric transducer and associated circuitry which generates electronic digital signals during the periods when vibrations are experienced by the operative (12). Preferably the plant or apparatus has a transmitter which transmits a code identifying the plant which is received by the monitor. Alternatively, the code may be entered manually. The monitor (14) preferably includes a logger which can be connected to a host computer which data can be transferred over an external communications link. The logger includes means for storing how long the operative is subjected to vibrations.

Cette invention concerne un enregistreur de vibrations porté sur le poignet par un opérateur (12) faisant fonctionner une installation d'usine ou un appareil (10). Cet enregistreur (14) comporte un transducteur piézo-électrique, ainsi que les circuits correspondants, qui génère des signaux électroniques numériques au cours de la période pendant laquelle l'opérateur (12) est soumis à des vibrations. De préférence, l'installation ou l'appareil possède un transmetteur qui transmet un code permettant d'identifier l'installation et qui est reçu par l'enregistreur. Une autre possibilité consiste à entrer ce code manuellement. De préférence, l'enregistreur (14) comporte un enregistreur chronologique automatique que l'on peut relier à un ordinateur hôte et dont les données peuvent être transmises sur une ligne de télécommunications externe. Cet enregistreur chronologique automatique comporte un organe permettant d'enregistrer la durée pendant laquelle l'opérateur a été soumis aux vibrations.
