The Canadian National Research Council has decreed that the most important factor for reducing unwanted plumbing noise in any plumbing installation is pipe isolation. ASHREA has established that homes are considered quiet at NC-30. We have established that flushing the average Canadian toilet generates over 60dB of noise therefore 30 db of noise has to be removed before plumbing is considered quiet. Research and testing has established that plumbing noise is annoying. The conical configuration of the ST-ISO-20 allows for the isolation material to conform to any size of pipe The conical shape / configuration of the ST-ISO-20 allows for the isolation material to automatically adjusts to accommodate various pipe sizes and loads. The ST-ISO-20 can reduce plumbing noise by 27-24 dB.
