ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved device for suppressing vibration of stator coils in a rotary electric machine, for example, a turbogenerator. In order to absorb radial and transverse deformation of a stator coil in an armature winding slot of such a machine due to thermal expansion or thermal deterioration of an associated insulator layer during operation of the machine over an extended period of time, the device comprises a pair of taper liners interposed between the stator coil and one of the side walls of the winding slot, and a spring member interposed between the stator coil and an asso- clated slot wedge to engage at a portion thereof with the wider end of one of the taper liners.
