An article of furniture, such as a theatre seat having a generally rigid shell and a foam cushion. The theatre seat is affixed to a floor of the theatre. The shell is typically a wood back disposed between metal frame rails of the theatre seat. The transducer has its case attached to the shell. The first end cap has a flange and the second end cap has a flange. Each flange has several axial openings through which attachment of the case to other devices may be made and also to attach each end cap to each other. To impart vibration within the seat, the transducer includes an elongated output shaft. Attached to a distal end of the output shaft is a pusher plate. The pusher plate is disposed within the foam of the cushion which is adjacent the shell.
