Description

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A video amplifier includes a channel having an input terminal to which a video signal is applied and an output termi- nal from which the video signal is delivered. A frequency de- tector is provided to detect high frequency components of the input video signal to deliver a first signal. The amplitude of the input video signal is detected when it exceeds a predetermined level by means of an amplitude detector producing a second signal. A clamping circuit is provided to respond to the simultaneous occurrence of the first and second signals to clamp the voltage at the output terminal to the predetermined level.
