A signal detecting apparatus may be used for detecting signals from video facilities and includes a converter coupled to a CPU, one or more monitors coupled to the CPU via a switch device, a video interface and one or more audio interfaces coupled to the converter and the switch device for receiving the signals from the video facilities and for sending the signals to the CPU via the converter. The CPU may receive the signals from the facilities and may send only the signals from the energized facilities to the monitor via the switch device.
