A method of displaying a branched chain of Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) video content involves providing a first stream of video content, the first stream of video content having a plurality of video features that appear during a plurality of associated time intervals in the first stream of video content, providing a collection of affiliate video streams related to the plu-rality of time intervals, providing a set of meta data that associates the time intervals with one of the plurality of affiliate video streams, playing the first stream of video content on an IPTV compatible player device to sequentially reveal the plurality of features of the first stream in their respective time relationships in the first stream via a display driven by the IPTV compatible player device, at the IPTV compatible player device, receiving a selection signal during the associated time interval that selects the video feature being displayed.
La présente invention porte sur un procédé d'affichage d'une chaîne ramifiée de contenus vidéo par télévision sur protocole Internet (IPTV). Ledit procédé consiste à fournir un premier flux du contenu vidéo, le premier flux du contenu vidéo ayant une pluralité de caractéristiques vidéo qui apparaissent pendant une pluralité d'intervalles de temps associés dans le premier flux du contenu vidéo; fournir une collection de flux vidéo affiliés liés à la pluralité d'intervalles de temps; fournir un ensemble de métadonnées qui associent les intervalles de temps à un flux vidéo affilié de la pluralité de flux vidéo affiliés; lire le premier flux du contenu vidéo sur un dispositif de lecteur compatible IPTV pour révéler de manière séquentielle la pluralité de caractéristiques du premier flux selon leurs relations temporelles respectives dans le premier flux par l'intermédiaire d'un affichage commandé par le dispositif de lecture compatible IPTV; au niveau du dispositif de lecture compatible IPTV, recevoir un signal de sélection pendant l'intervalle de temps associé qui sélectionne la caractéristique vidéo qui est affichée.
