One or more video objects are recorded on an optical disc. When a user indicates a linking edit that links sections of the video objects, video object units (VOBUs) that include picture data at the end of a former section and VOBUs that include picture data at the start of a latter section are read from the optical disc and the audio packs and video packs are separated from these read VOBs. Next, the video packs are re-encoded and some of the audio packs that were originally in the former section are multiplexed into the latter section. The result of the multiplexing is then recorded onto the optical disc.
Un ou plusieurs objets vidéo sont enregistrés sur un disque optique. Quand l'utilisateur spécifie une édition qui relie des sections de ces objets vidéo, les unités d'objet vidéo qui contiennent les données d'imagerie à la fin d'une section précédente et les unités d'objet vidéo qui contiennent les données d'imagerie au début d'une section suivante sont lues sur le disque optique et les blocs audio et les blocs vidéo sont séparés de ces unités d'objet vidéo lues. Les blocs vidéo sont ensuite recodés et certains des blocs audio qui se trouvaient originellement dans la section précédente sont multiplexés dans la section suivante. Le résultat du multiplexage est ensuite enregistré sur le disque optique.
