A video encoding method for encoding a video signal formed by two or more signal components. The video encoding method includes: a step for setting a down sampling ratio for a particular signal component in the frame in accordance with the characteristic in the frame; and a step for generating a video signal to be encoded by down-sampling a particular signal component in the frame in accordance with the down sampling ratio. It is also possible to divide a frame into partial regions in accordance with a local characteristic in the frame and set a down sampling ratio for a particular signal component of the partial region in accordance with the characteristic in each of the partial regions.
L'invention concerne un procédé de codage vidéo pour coder un signal vidéo formé par deux composantes de signal ou plus. Le procédé de codage vidéo comprend une étape pour fixer une fréquence de sous-échantillonnage pour une composante de signal spécifique dans la trame, conformément à la caractéristique dans la trame ; et une étape pour générer un signal vidéo à coder par sous-échantillonnage d'une composante de signal spécifique dans la trame, selon la fréquence de sous-échantillonnage. Il est également possible de diviser une trame en zones partielles conformément à une caractéristique locale dans la trame et de fixer une fréquence de sous-échantillonnage pour une composante de signal spécifique de la zone partielle conformément à la caractéristique dans chacune des zones partielles.
