Processing of image data derived from radiation emanating from a scene and acquired by a multi-channel enhanced vision system (100) renders an image of the scene for display. Detected first and second wavelength bands of radiation produce re-spective first (116 and second (120) sets of image data that include representations of relatively low contrast, high spatial frequency detail of features of the scene. Nonlinear intensity transformation of data derived from the first and second sets of image data pro-duces, respectively, first (118) and second (122) sets of low dynamic range image data representing, respectively, first and second sets of intensity values. Associated intensity values of the different pairs are combined to form fused image data (124) representing brightness levels of the pixels forming a displayed image that exhibits with high brightness and in great detail the features of the scene.
L'invention concerne le traitement de données d'image issues du rayonnement émanant d'une scène et acquises par un système de vision amélioré multivoies (100) qui effectue le rendu d'une image de la scène pour affichage. Une première et une seconde gamme de longueur d'onde de rayonnement détectées produisent respectivement un premier jeu (116) et un second jeu (120) de données d'image, qui incluent des représentations de détails de caractéristiques de la scène présentant une fréquence spatiale élevée et un contraste relativement faible. Une transformation non linéaire des intensités des données issues du premier et du second jeu de données d'image produit, respectivement, un premier jeu (118) et un second jeu (122) de données d'image d'une faible plage dynamique représentant, respectivement, le premier jeu et le second jeu des valeurs d'intensité. Les valeurs d'intensité associées des différentes paires sont combinées pour former des données d'image fusionnées (124) représentant les niveaux de luminosité des pixels formant une image affichée qui présente les caractéristiques de la scène avec une grande luminosité et un grand nombre de détails.
