A method of distinguishing between a foreground object part and a substantially static background part of each videoframe within a video sequence. The method comprises the steps of: dividing each video frame into a number of video blocks each of which comprises one or more pixels; generating a mask frame in respect of each video frame, each mask frame having a mask block corresponding to each video block in each respective video frame; and either setting each mask block to either an object value, indicating that the corresponding video block in the corresponding video frame includes one or more pixels depicting a foreground object part, or to another value.
Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé permettant de faire la distinction entre une partie d'objet de premier plan et une partie d'arrière-plan essentiellement statique de chaque trame vidéo à l'intérieur d'une séquence vidéo. Ce procédé consiste: à diviser chaque trame vidéo en un certain nombre de blocs vidéo comprenant chacun un ou plusieurs pixels; à générer une trame masque par rapport à chaque trame vidéo, chaque trame masque comportant un bloc masque correspondant à chaque bloc vidéo dans chaque trame vidéo respective; et à régler chaque bloc masque soit sur une valeur objet, indiquant que le bloc vidéo correspondant dans la trame vidéo correspondante contient un ou plusieurs pixels représentant une partie d'objet de premier plan, soit sur une autre valeur.
