-2- ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A video projecting apparatus for projecting a color image on a projection screen having a plurality of color cathode ray tubes each having a phosphor screen for producing a color image different in color, a plurality of projecting systems for projecting the color images on a projection screen with predetermined elevation and horizontal deflection angles, and a pre-distorting device for distorting a raster shape of each of the color images on the phosphor screens so as to compensate for a distortion of a projected color image, in which a position of the horizontal center of the longest scanning line of each of the color images is made coincident with a position of the horizontal center of each of the phosphor screens of the color cathode ray tubes.
