Abstract of the Disclosure In a computer system in which data from a computer is displayed on a video display such as a CRT terminal a hard copy of the information shown on the video display is obtained by recovering digital data from the composite video waveform utilized to provide the display and storing the recovered digital data in a memory in an organized fashion. Once the digital data has been stored in the memory, the thus stored data is then formatted as required for the particular line printer being utilized in the computer system and is then transferred to the line printer which provides a hard copy of the image on the video display.
