A novel video surveillance system is made up of video and audio compression engine, a storage device and, a video and audio recognition engine. The video recognition engine detects such events as face recognition, motion detection etc, whereas audio recognition engine detects voice and other sound signatures indicating a potential alarm situation, e.g., panic voices such as screaming and yelling, or sounds such as gun shots, explosions. Combined recognition of audio and video signals provides for higher true alarm generation and lower false alarms level of the surveillance system. Additionally, the audio recognition engine provides information for directing video cameras in the direction of interest allowing better capture of an interesting scene.
La présente invention concerne un nouveau système de vidéosurveillance comprenant un moteur de compression audio et vidéo, un dispositif de stockage et un moteur de reconnaissance audio et vidéo. Le moteur de reconnaissance vidéo détecte des évènements tels qu'une reconnaissance faciale, une détection de mouvement, etc., alors que celui de reconnaissance audio détecte des empreintes vocales et d'autres signatures sonores indiquant une situation d'alarme potentielle (par exemples, des voix de type cris ou des sons de type détonations ou explosions). Une reconnaissance combinée de signaux audio et vidéo permet d'augmenter le niveau de génération de vraies alarmes et de réduire celui de fausses alarmes du système de surveillance. En outre, le moteur de reconnaissance audio fournit des informations pour diriger des caméras vidéo dans la direction concernée, ce qui permet une meilleure capture d'une scène d'intérêt.
