Abstract of the Disclosure This device relates to a video tape recorder having a capstan, voice control head and erasing head disposed opposite to a feed reel and take-up reel sandwiching a rotary head, and having loading gear rings which rotate oppositely to each other to draw the tape out of the cassette through a pinch roller and take-out pin, so as to load the tape nearly at random onto the rotary head, voice control head, erasing head and capstan. The mechanism is simple and compact in construction and easily positioned onto the chassis. Random tape loading provides the advantage of having a tape drawn out to a small extent so that it may run smoothly.
