A laryngoscope curved blade includes a pair of fiber optic bundles, one fiber optic bundle adapted to transmit light to the distal end of the blade and the other fiber optic bundle adapted to provide a viewing channel for telescopic viewing of the area adjacent to the distal end of the blade. A lens attached to the proximal end of the blade gathers and focuses the light transmitted by the viewing channel fiber optic bundle. Additionally, a lamp located on the proximal end of the blade provides illumination down the throat of a patient for line of sight viewing of the person performing the laryngoscope and the light transmitted by the first fiber optic bundle for illumination of the area adjacent to the distal end of the blade.
