T 809 A B S T R A C T VINYL ESTER LATICES The free monomer content of latices formed by emulsion polymerization of vinyl acetate and the vinyl ester(s) of branched chain carboxylic acid(s) can be reduced by the presence of an amount of from 0.1 to 5% by weight based on the total weight of components (a), (b) and (c) of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal vinyl sulphonate and preferably in an amount of from 0.75% to 5% by weight.
