A method and apparatus for three-dimensional imaging and treatment of a patient's body. The method and apparatus utilize a system (10) for developing a therapy plan for treatment of an organ of the patient, a device (12) for generating ultrasound image data from a treatment region and a device (14) for providing a translucent volume image of a portion of a patient's body and a separate translucent image of the patient organ and a three-dimensional viewing device (16) to superimpose a translucent article image to enable viewing of the article simultaneously with the patient organ and a portion of the patient's body.

Cette invention a trait à une méthode et à l'appareil correspondant permettant de former des images tridimensionnelles du corps d'un patient et de traiter celui-ci. On utilise à cet effet un système (10) permettant la mise au point d'un plan thérapeutique aux fins du traitement d'un organe d'un patient, un dispositif (12) de production de données image ultrasonores relatives à une région corporelle dudit patient à traiter ainsi qu'un dispositif (14) produisant une image translucide de volume d'une partie du corps de ce patient ainsi qu'une image translucide distincte de l'organe du patient et, enfin, un dispositif de visualisation en trois dimensions (16) assurant la superposition d'une image translucide d'article afin de voir simultanément l'article, l'organe et la partie du corps du patient.
