Bockno 424 Meadowhurst Lane Media, Pennsylvania 19063 TITLE VISCOSE RAYON AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION A crimped, high wet modulus viscose rayon fiber having a multi- lobular, skin core cross-section wherein the core is surrounded by a discontinuous broken skin that imparts to fabrics an im- proved cover and hand properties. The fibers are formed from a modifier-free viscose. The elimination of the modifier reduces manufacturing costs and eliminates an environmental pollution problem created in the discharge of spinning baths containing modifiers.
