U.S. 506,360 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A lowered viscosity at low temperatures is obtained in a lubricant comprising a major proportion of a lubricating oil and a minor proportion of at least two viscosity index improvement additives, said additives comprising an ethylene copolymer type additive including nitrogen derivatives thereof and an ester base polymer type additive having oxygen, and optionally also having nitrogen functionality. Lower viscosities at low temperatures have been obtained with the synergistic mixture than when either type additive is used alone.
