Hydrocarbon solutions of a dialkylmagnesium compound having reduced viscosity, are disclosed which comprise: (a) a hydrocarbon solvent; (b) an dialkylmagnesium compound normally soluble in hydrocarbon solvents; and (c) an effective viscosity reducing amount of a compound selected from the group consisting of a compound having silicon- oxygen bonding, a compound having silicon-nitrogen bonding, and mixtures thereof. Representative viscosity reducing agents include: tetraalkylorthosilicate compounds, such as those of general formula Si(OR)4, where R is an alkyl group containing from 1 to about 4 carbon atoms, as exemplified by tetraethylorthosilicate; alkylsilazane compounds, such as a hexaalkyldisilazane compound containing from 1 to about 4 carbon atoms in the alkyl groups therein as exemplified by hexamethyldisilazane; and silicone oil.
L'invention a pour objet des solutions hydrocarbonées d'un composé de dialkylmagnésium qui possèdent une viscosité réduite et comprennent ce qui suit: (a) un solvant hydrocarboné; (b) un composé de dialkylmagnésium normalement soluble dans des solvants hydrocarbonés et; (c) une quantité, efficace pour réduire la viscosité, d'un composé choisi dans le groupe constitué d'un composé possédant une liaison silicone-oxygène, d'un composé possédant une liaison silicone-azote et de leurs mélanges. Les agents réducteurs de viscosité, cités pour l'exemple, comprennent: des composés de tétra-alkylorthosilicate, par exemple ceux possédant la formule Si(OR)4, dans laquelle R est un groupe alkyle contenant de 1 à 4 atomes de carbone, comme dans tétra-alkylorthosilicate; des composés d'alkylsilazane, par exemple un composé d'hexa-alkyldisilazane comprenant de 1 à environ 4 atomes de carbone dans les groupes alkyles, comme c'est le cas d'hexaméthyldisilazane; et de l'huile de silicone.
