Improved, highly viscous film-forming protective germicidal formulations are provided which include water, a germicidal agent (preferably complexed iodine) together with an organic thickener, a skin conditioning agent and a minor amount of polyvinyl pyrrolidone. Preferably, the formulations include iodine complexed with a Poloxamer and PVP, in combination with a xanthan gum and glycerin. The formulations have a viscosity of from about 50-5000 cP and form a flexible residual film when applied to skin. The invention is particularly useful in the preparation of bovine teat dips.

Cette invention se rapporte à des formulations germicides protectrices filmogènes hautement visqueuses améliorées, qui renferment de l'eau, un agent germicide (de préférence de l'iode complexé) conjointement avec un épaississant organique, un agent de conditionnement de la peau et une petite quantité de pyrrolidone de polyvinyle. Ces formulations contiennent de préférence de l'iode complexé à un Poloxamère et à du PVP, en combinaison avec une gomme de xanthane et de la glycérine. Ces formulations ont une viscosité comprise entre environ 50 et 5000 cP et forment un film résiduel flexible, lorsqu'elles sont appliquées sur la peau. Cette invention est particulièrement utile dans la préparation de bains pour le trempage des trayons chez les bovins.
