The equations of friction and wire-friction and innovative hinges are exploited to substantially decrease the tensile forces of all wires of a life-saving door-detachment device, which automatically or manually detaches the jammed and/or locked doors from the body of a transport system, when it has come to rest after being involved in an accident and/or fire, by pulling the hinge-pins out of the hinge-holes and/or fracturing the hinge- members. Catch bands thereof prevent the detached doors from flying off and striking rescue- workers and others in the vicinity. As a result, passengers can escape from the vehicle within seconds or be quickly rescued. The shorter the evacuation time, the greater the survival chance, particularly, when the passengers are severely injured and/or the transport system catches fire. A catch pin serves as a catch band and member of a doorstop to keep the door open in one of the defined positions.
