Method and apparatus (16) for projecting infrared or near infrared or low intensity visible light from a pen, pointer or other guiding object in the form of a coded pattern image, detectable by a camera and recognition system but invisible, or hardly visible to the user and audience, thus controlling and interacting with a computer (19) during a presentation, computer supported work and/or other interactive use of a computer, including pointing, selecting, drawing and writing, both distantly (11) and closely (10) to the front or rear projection screen or possible other type of display screen, without any distracting visual patterns or spots, while the possible visual feedback to the user and audience can be generated by the computer and display system onto the display screen in a controlled and context-sensitive way. The projected complex images from the positioning device when operating remotely (11) and when operating closely to the screen (10), are created by optical alignment of one or several diffractive optical elements, collimating lens and/or mirrors, and one or more light sources. The light sources can preferably be laser diodes or light emitting diodes. In a preferred embodiment, the light sources are emitting visible, infrared or near-infrared light.
La présente invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif (16) pour projeter une lumière infrarouge, proche infrarouge ou de faible intensité à partir d~un photostyle, d~un pointeur ou de tout autre objet de guidage, sous forme d~une image de motif codée détectable par une caméra ou un système de reconnaissance, mais invisible ou difficilement visible par l~utilisateur ou l~auditoire, ce qui permet la commande et l~interaction avec un ordinateur (19) pendant une présentation. Les tâches exécutées par l~ordinateur et/ou d~autres formes d~utilisation interactive, notamment le pointage, la sélection, le dessin et l~écriture, à la fois à distance (11) et près (10) d~un écran de projection avant ou arrière ou d~un possible autre type de dispositif d~affichage, sans motifs visuels ou points de distraction, avec possibilité de rétroaction visuelle pour l~utilisateur et l~auditoire, peuvent être générées par l~ordinateur et le système d~affichage sur l~écran d~affichage de manière contrôlée et contextuelle. Les images complexes projetées au moyen du pointeur lorsqu~il est télécommandé (11) et lorsqu~il fonctionne près de l~écran (10), sont créées par alignement optique d~un ou de plusieurs éléments optiques à diffraction, de lentilles collimatrices et/ou de miroirs, et d~une ou de plusieurs sources lumineuses. Ces dernières sont de préférence des diodes laser ou des diodes électroluminescentes. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré de l~invention, les sources lumineuses émettent de la lumière visible, infrarouge ou proche infrarouge.
