Thanks to the popularity of public wireless networks, it is possible for users to access the World Wide Web via many different mobile devices such as notebooks, PDAs, and Smartphones. However, because of the heterogeneity of the various portable devices, the experience of accessing the Internet through them is much different than through a desktop computer. Web pages must be rendered differently on client devices, taking into account their physical and performance constraints such as screen size, memory size, and connection bandwidth. In order to achieve efficient content delivery and user satisfaction, the FAÇADE framework was developed as a context-aware adaptation tool for single-source web pages. However, due to the initial steep learning curve to successfully create single-source web pages, a web page authoring tool is needed to automatically generate the XHTML code. A tool for providing an author with a WYSIWYG graphical user interface and the ability to create single-source authored context-adaptable web pages for multiple end user devices simultaneously is disclosed.
