ABSTRACT A rectangular container constructed from expanded poly- styrene used for the propagation of seedlings for silvaculture and horticulture is disclosed. Disposed between the planting cavities are open-ended cylindrical cavities extending throughout the thickness of the container which are used for ventilation purposes. The ventilation cavities have a small upper opening and a larger lower opening. The upper opening is raised above the top surface of the container such that any irrigation water or nutrients which fall near the ventilation opening are diverted into the planting cavities which contain the growth medium and seedlings.
