VOLLEYBALL NET ADJUSTER IV Abstract: A device for quick, easy set-up and adjustment of volleyball nets, comprises pulleys which tighten both the upper and lower net cables in unison via a pulley rope. The tension of the rope is multiplied by the pulleys, reducing or eliminating the need for winch means, other than a rope lock or cleat. The pulleys may be attached to a vertical slide, for infinite height changes without net detachment. An Ideal tension ratio, selected by the designer, is maintained between the upper and lower net cables, to eliminate vertical net slack, for consistent ball rebound off the net and protection of poles. The net cables are pulled in the same direction, keeping the net ends and antennas, if any, vertical. This allows the net fabric to be tensioned horizontally along with the cables, without separate cords from the net ends to the poles. These features provide convenience and speed for setting up nets, changing between men's and women's net heights, and compensating for the changing level of sand courts. 12
