Abstract of the Disclosure A power supply system which provides a signal indicative of the status of a low-level DC voltage being supplied. The power supply includes voltage doubler and switching transistor circuits connected to an AC power supply. The chopped output from the switching transistor circuits is applied to the primary winding of a main power transformer. The output from the secondary of the main power transformer is rectified, filtered and applied to the load. The rectified output of the main transformer is sensed and compared with two reference voltages. As a result of such comparison a status signal having a first level is generated prior to the power supply having been turned on. A second signal level is generated when the sensed voltage reaches a first predetermined level. If the sensed voltage falls below a predetermined level the status signal having the first level is generated.
