ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A volume measuring apparatus for milk collecting trucks, in which a pump, a pulse controlled sampling device, an air separator and a volume measuring device, comprising a pulse generator and a display unit, are arranged one behind the other in operating direction. The analysis is made possible by means of a computer provided in the display unit. The apparatus is designed in such a manner that, regardless of the quantity delivered, the quantity sampled is always the same so that, when a small quantity is delivered, an adequate sample is available for analysis and, when a large quantity is delivered, additional containers are not required and overflowing is prevented. For this purpose, according to the invention, the quantities of milk delivered by the suppliers on the previous day are stored in the computer of the display unit and are associated with the relevant supplier. The same number of pulses are associated with all quantities of the previous day, the quantity dependent sequence thereof being calculated from the quantity of the previous day and being released by the volume measuring device, so that different quantities of the previous day correspond to different pulses of delivered quantity and the sampling device is acted upon by these pulses.
