A medical infusion pump is disclosed which provides for greatly improved accuracy in the delivery of medica- ments to a patient. Among the various features included in the instant invention is a pumping body which serves to deform and reform a tube so as to maintain the initial cross section thereof and thereby preserve the output accuracy of the pump. Also disclosed with regard to the pumping body is a wholly mechanical synchronization of the pump- ing body and valves associated therewith and coactive with the aforementioned synchronization a mechanical lineariza- tion of output of the pumping body per each pumping cy- cle. Additionally, several features which serve to enhance the utility of the instant invention are also included therein among which is an associated assembly operative to auto- matically load or disload a tube or IV set into or out of the pumping body. Associated with the assembly operative to automatically load or disload a tube and disclosed herein is an assembly operative to selectively open or close a slide clamp associated with the tube in such a way as to ensure that the tube is occluded such that in combination with the valves associated with the pumping body, a condition of free-flow of medicament is never realized. Additionally disclosed are sensor housings adapted to measure various quantities associated with fluid flowing through the tube wherein the housings are with associated components adapted to achieve a substantially normal orientation with respect to the sidewall of the tube and in the achieving of such normal orientation, expressing an essentially zero elastic stress gradient across the tube.
L'invention concerne une pompe médicale à perfusion qui permet d'administrer un médicament à un patient avec une précision beaucoup plus grande. Parmi les nombreuses caractéristiques comprises dans la présente invention, on compte un corps de pompe qui sert à déformer et à reformer un tube de façon qu'il garde sa section initiale, ce qui permet de conserver la précision de sortie de la pompe. L'invention concerne également, pour ce qui est du corps de pompe, une synchronisation entièrement mécanique de ce dernier et des valves associées et, coopérant avec ladite synchronisation, une linéarisation mécanique de la sortie du corps de pompe à chaque cycle de pompage. La présente invention concerne également plusieurs caractéristiques qui accroissent son utilité, parmi lesquelles un ensemble associé qui permet d'introduire automatiquement un tube ou un ensemble pour intraveineuse dans le corps de pompe ou de sortir de celui-ci ledit tube ou ensemble. L'invention concerne aussi, associé à l'ensemble qui permet d'introduire ou de sortir automatiquement un tube, un ensemble qui permet d'ouvrir ou de fermer sélectivement une pince coulissante associée au tube, de façon à assurer que celui-ci est fermé et, en combinaison avec les soupapes associées au corps de pompe, à empêcher le médicament de s'écouler librement. L'invention concerne enfin des boîtiers de capteurs conçus pour mesurer diverses quantités associées à l'écoulement du fluide dans le tube, lesdits boîtiers et leurs composants associés étant conçus pour être orientés de façon sensiblement perpendiculaire à la paroi du tube et, ainsi orientés, pour exprimer dans l'ensemble du tube un gradient de contrainte élastique sensiblement nul.
