On VOLVO station wagons, series 700, 800, 900, the tailgate panel can break around four upper clip holes, making the clip hole larger than a matching clip, so panel can not be properly secured to the tailgate. The invention - Volvo wagon tailgate panel repair bracket - eliminates need for expensive panel replacement. The metal bracket is shaped to fit over the damaged hole in the panel. It is made of galvanized sheet metal and secured to the panel by two short self tapping screws. The hole in the bracket is of the same size and shape as the original hole in the panel; it is located right over the damaged hole in the panel. Original clips sticking out from the tailgate now fit snug and panel can be properly reinstalled and easily removed if the need be. Four brackets (panel has four upper clip holes), eight self tapping screws and instructions sheet make the Volvo wagon tailgate panel repair kit. It will be offered to garages servicing Volvo cars. The inventor tested the invention on more then twenty cars over the one year time and is convinced in its usefulness.
