A fluid injector assembly for drawing a first fluid into the flow of a second fluid. The injector assembly includes an eductor including an inlet having a plurality of openings, a first outlet port, and a first fluid passage extending between the inlet and the first outlet port. The openings are generally disposed tangentially to the first fluid passage. The inlet is adapted o be placed in fluid communication with the second fluid such that the second fluid flows through the first fluid passage from the inlet to the first outlet port. The fluid injector assembly also includes a throat having an inlet port, a second outlet port and a second fluid passage extending between the inlet port and the second outlet port. The inlet port of the throat is spaced apart from the first outlet port of the eductor forming a gap therebetween. The gap is adapted to be placed in fluid communication with the first fluid. As the second fluid flows through the first passage, the tangential openings of the eductor cause the second fluid to swirl as the second fluid flows through the first fluid passage and to form a vortex n the gap as the second fluid flows out of the first outlet port. The vortex of the second fluid creates a low pressure zone within the gap which draws the first fluid into the gap wherein he first fluid and the second fluid enter the inlet port of the throat and flow through the second fluid passage.
Appareillage d'injection de fluide servant à introduire un premier fluide dans l'écoulement d'un second. L'appareillage d'injection comporte un éjecteur présentant une entrée ayant une série d'ouvertures, un premier orifice de sortie, et un premier passage à fluide se prolongeant entre l'entrée et le premier orifice de sortie. Les ouvertures sont généralement disposées de façon tangentielle par rapport au premier passage à fluide. L'entrée est conçue pour être reliée librement au second fluide, de sorte que ce dernier s'écoule dans le premier passage à fluide à partir de l'entrée jusqu'au premier orifice de sortie. L'appareillage d'injection de fluide comporte également une gorge présentant un orifice d'entrée, un second orifice de sortie et un second passage à fluide se prolongeant entre l'orifice d'entrée et le second orifice de sortie. L'orifice d'entrée de la gorge est éloigné du premier orifice de sortie de l'éjecteur; il y a donc un écart entre les deux orifices. L'écart est conçu pour communiquer librement avec le premier fluide. Lorsque le second fluide s'écoule dans le premier passage à fluide, les ouvertures tangentielles de l'éjecteur le font tourbillonner, formant ainsi un vortex dans l'écart lorsque le second fluide se vide par le premier orifice de sortie. Le vortex du second fluide crée une zone de basse pression à l'intérieur de l'écart, permettant d'y attirer le premier fluide, où les premier et second fluides entrent dans l'orifice d'entrée de la gorge et s'écoulent par le second passage à fluide.
