Flexible elastomer wrap panels stretched and clamped encircling submerged pilings, risers and pipelines are coated to resist degradation by any form of marine life, and incorporate an interior pile-facing felt layer impregnated with a corrosion inhibiting and biocidal gel, providing long term protection forpilings and like submerged objects. The wrap panels present radial rib-strakes protruding outward from the piling and extending along the piling in a longitudinal direction, either vertically, parallel to the vertical axis of the piling or pipe, or slanting helically, reducing or eliminating aeolian vibration induced by flowingocean current causing vortex formation.

Cette invention concerne des panneaux élastomères souples servant de revêtement pour piles, colonnes montantes et pipelines immergés, mis en place par étirage et cerclage et enduits pour résister à toute dégradation par des organismes marins d'origine animale ou végétale. Ces panneaux comportent, côté pile à protéger, une couche intérieure en feutre imprégné d'un gel anticorrosion et biocide offrant une protection durable aux piles et autres objets immergés. Les panneaux objets de l'invention comportent des nervures sur toute leur longueur, nervures verticales parallèles à l'axe vertical de la pile ou du tuyau à protéger ou hélicoïdales pour réduire ou éliminer les vibrations induites par les courants d'origine éolienne favorisant l'apparition de remous et tourbillons.
