Abstract of the Disclosure There is provided a process, and the product of that process, for the production of improved silica or calcium silicate filled rubbery vulcanizates in which a polymer containing hydroxyl groups is mixed with silica or calcium silicate and an amine, the mixture is subjected to shearing at an elevated temperature and vulcanized to yield the improved vulcanizates. Such vulcanizates may be used is place of carbon black vulcanizates.
