VULCANIZATION METHOD AND APPARATUS Abstract of the Disclosure A method and apparatus for continuously vulcanizing long lengths of elastomeric or plastomeric material which comprises propelling or feeding the continuous length of the material through an enclosure, which subjects the material to vulcanization. The length of material passes through the enclosure in a helical path with a portion supported and a portion freely suspended so that the length of material remains constant. This is accomplished by pro- viding means to vary the peripheral speed if necessary as it passes through the chamber to compensate for any variation in the diameter of the generally cylindrical member of the supporting means at the positions of the engagement with the individual convolutions of the material.
